Good news for all you non-Amazon Prime members: Starting today, November 5 , all Amazon shoppers will get free shipping — on all orders (no matter how much your total happens to be) that will arrive in time for Christmas. Before this announcement, non-Prime members had to spend at least $25 to get free shipping. This offer applies to hundreds of millions of items, making it “the largest free shipping selection in the country,” Amazon says in a press release.

If you are a member, though, don’t go canceling Prime just yet.

The offer is good only for a limited time and the folks at Amazon aren’t saying when the deal will end, either. UPDATE: We do know that the items will go out with standard shipping in five to eight business days. The free two-day shipping remains a perk just for Amazon Prime members.

What If You’re Already an Amazon Prime Member?

Don’t worry — there’s good news for existing Prime members, too. Many of you (tens of millions of you!) will be able to shop with free Same-Day Delivery on more than three million items including all sorts of toys, electronics, home stuff, and items from Amazon’s curated Gift Guides.

Plus, Prime members in more than 60 cities can also receive delivery in as little as an hour from Whole Foods Market, using Prime Now. This could come in handy during Friendsgiving or when stocking up on last-minute essentials before a holiday party.

“With hundreds of millions of items available for free shipping to all Amazon customers and more than three million items available with Prime FREE Same-Day Delivery, customers can enjoy the largest selection of items that are fast and free,” says Doug Herrington , senior vice president of North American Retail at Amazon .

What do you think? Will you be taking advantage of this offer this holiday season?
