TikTok Promised This Amazon Find Would Cut My Cleaning Time in Half — So, of Course, I Had to Try It
You might think that because I write about cleaning all of the time, I rarely come across a technique, tool, or product that’s actually new to me. But that’s not the case at all. One of the things I love about writing cleaning and organizing articles is that I get to learn about so many brilliant things.
This is what happened with my latest cleaning find on TikTok. Let me explain. I watched @julianna_claire‘s video, in which she breaks out a scrubbing tool with various brush attachments. She tells us it’s the IEZFIX Electric Spin Scrubber, and she promises that it can “cut cleaning time in half.”
She shows us how the spin scrubber is used on various surfaces, including on countertops, the sink, and the refrigerator. With hundreds of high ratings on Amazon, it seemed worth the try. So, can you guess what I did next? If you said *add to cart,* you’re right!
As soon as I received the tool, I was impressed by how sturdy and well-made it was. Plus, it was compact, light, and easy to hold. With a full household of kids, I couldn’t wait to try it out on a spot that I’d been struggling to clean: my boys’ bathroom tub.
The tub has an anti-slip texture that I hadn’t been able to get clean — even with vigorous, prolonged scrubbing with a scouring pad and Bar Keepers Friend. Of course, while it may be hard to see in photos, the tub’s discoloration really bothered me. I wanted to lift that dirt and make the place where my boys get clean actually feel clean.
So, I went upstairs with my new tool in hand. I attached the flat, round brush, wet the surface of the tub, sprinkled Bar Keepers Friend, and got to work. Turns out “work” with this tool is strictly a technical term. I honestly didn’t do anything but hold the brush on the dirty areas and move it around every thirty seconds or so.
The tool took on all the hard work of scrubbing on its own, and it did it far more efficiently than I ever could. There’s no way I could scrub as fast as the brush rotated.
Did it cut my cleaning time in half? Definitely more than half. The best part is that I could scrub harder than ever and exert myself a whole lot less.
Once I rinsed away the Bar Keepers Friend paste (which, by the way, turned a murky brown color — already looking promising!), I was shocked by how well the tool had worked. I could clearly see the areas that I had missed, which highlighted how effective it had been.
I went to work right away on round two. By the end, the boys’ tub looked sparkling clean, and I was thrilled!
That’s when I decided to try the tool on an even tougher job — in the kitchen. I used it to clean something I hadn’t seen in the TikTok video so I could really put it to the test. Truth be told, we don’t actually have a kitchen right now (we’re at the tail end of a renovation that’s dragged on and on … and on), but I’m getting ready to move into it.
One thing I wanted to do was clean the bottom of a really dirty pot. Would my new brush scrubber be up to the task?
It sure was! I was even more impressed than with the bathtub. I did the same thing, wet the bottom of the pot, sprinkled on Bar Keepers Friend, and held the electric scrubber on what must be years worth of burnt-on stains.
Again, what blew me away is how the tool takes all of the effort out of scrubbing. With just 10 minutes of holding the tool in place and moving it around, the bottom of the pot drastically improved. You can see it for yourself!
The tool is quite similar to drill cleaning attachments I’ve used before. But I’m sure I’m going to get much more use out of this handy scrubber. I won’t have to search for my husband’s tool bag to get the drill, and adding the attachments is far less scary than securing them to the end of the drill.
In fact, I can’t wait to use this tool all over the house. I’m going to scour the sink, polish the fridge, and scrub those tricky detail spots (like the drain covers in sinks and showers and the window tracks). My electric spin scrubber is hands-down my new favorite cleaning tool!
