With so much time spent in the kitchen lately, I’m surprised that I never gave more thought to my sink zone. Sure, I’ve stocked up on sponges and dish soap, but I never thought to address sink organization until a recent kitchen renovation made me KonMari my entire space. While in search of the perfect sponge caddy, I came across the Happitasa Silicone Kitchen Sink Organizer Tray, which functions as both a drying mat and a utensil rest. Once I saw it had over 1,400 5-star reviews and an affordable price tag, I knew I had found the perfect solution.

The tray, currently on sale for $8.13 (normally $13.99) as part of Amazon’s early Black Friday deals, has grooves that elevate sponges a bit to dry them out, preventing the nasty slime and mildew (gross!) that can collect underneath. One reviewer “highly recommends [the tray] for anyone who has stone countertops” to avoid soap build-up, but it also saves your counter from those rust stains that wet steel wool pads leave behind. The tray is also super easy to clean. “Just pop into the dishwasher and it’s good as new!” adds the reviewer.

Since the tray contains nearly twice as much food-grade silicone as competing products, it won’t crack, peel, or become brittle, no matter how many times I rinse it off. I don’t have a ton of space on my counters to waste, so its size is also a perk; at only 4-inches wide, the mat is designed to fit into narrow spaces. Now all of my sink items have their proper place, and everything is neat, tidy, and within reach without taking up too much real estate.

As another reviewer notes, “Love it so much, bought another one,” and so will I. Because you know what also fits on a silicone mat that width? Wine glasses. I always struggle to find a place to dry them. Inevitably, they are way too close to my Dutch oven, and I fear its weight will crush them if it slips. The silicone mat grips my wine glasses enough to keep them secure while they safely drain on the grooves.

Did I mention that this tray is heat resistant up to 450 degrees Farenheit? No matter the temperature outside, I still spark up my barbecue, and I’ve never quite found a good resting place for my tongs — until now. This mat makes a perfect utensil rest for those hot items, and it keeps everything safe and clean.

“This is exactly what I was looking for,” gushes another five-star reviewer, and boy, do I agree! The tray comes in six colors, all of which are included in the sale. With so much versatility and at this price, I’m stocking up on a rainbow of these kitchen multitaskers before they sell out.
