We know that it's way better for the environment (and our wallets) to eschew disposable bottles of water in favor of reusable ones. Luckily, thanks to brands like Soma, it's easier than ever to motivate yourself with pretty water bottles that you will love keeping on your desk.

But there's just one major problem: Many water bottles have necks that are too narrow to allow for ice cubes to pass through. And a lot of us prefer cold water!

The idea of an ice cube tray with long, narrow compartments to make ice cubes for water bottles isn't exactly new. But do not be fooled: Not all ice cube trays are created equal. Our top pick, from OXO, is the one you want to invest your money in. Your water bottle will thank you.

Basic water bottle ice trays aren't pricey — many start at around $5 and go up (and get more bells and whistles) from there. For the money, OXO is well worth the investment of an extra few bucks. (We've long raved about how much we love the classic version of the same ice tray).

Why? There's a silicone lid, which keeps the water in the tray (preventing spills and even letting you store the tray at an angle). It also keeps the ice from absorbing the odors of the freezer. And the body is made from a super-durable plastic.

When it comes to the actual ice, you get 12 small (but not too small) pieces to pop into your water bottle of choice. If you'd rather not have two ice trays, this one can obviously stand in as your all-purpose tray. The low profile also makes it great for stacking two or more together, if you are a family of thirsty people.

While we could go on all day about this tray, one Amazon review might sum it up best. After doing a "stupid amount of research" on an ice cube tray, the happy customer sums it up this way: "Honestly, just buy it."
