3 Eco-Friendly Amazon Buys That Will Save You Money
Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22. And while we’re always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment, there’s nothing like a day dedicated to the planet to really give us reason to invest in more eco-friendly home goods. Sure, many of our favorite reusable alternatives do require more of an upfront investment — but they really can save you money in the long run.
Below, you’ll find three of our favorite replacements for disposable plastic and and paper goods that will help save you money down the line.
There are plenty of reusable snack and lunch bags on the market, but we like LunchSkin’s for a few reasons. For starters, they come in a variety of fun patterns that make them fun to use (and easy to remember to reach for). They’re also all dishwasher-safe, meaning you can toss them on the top rack after using them, let them dry quickly overnight, and reuse the next day. One bag is $7, but can pay for itself after a few months of daily use.
2. Bee’s Wrap 3-Pack, $18
Bee’s Wrap wins points from us for not only reducing the amount of cling wrap we have to use, but also for being compostable. Designed to last for a year with regular use, after you’re done, you can also be assured it won’t spend thousands of years in a landfill.
The food-safe beeswax coating is great for wrapping around itself or sealing bowls and cups. At $18, its the most expensive thing we’re recommending. Hear us out, though: One purchase can easily replace many cling wrap purchases.
3. AmazonBasics Microfiber Cleaning Clothes, $12 for 24
What can’t microfiber do? These reusable clothes are great for dusting and polishing, and are absorbent enough to replace paper towels. Then, instead of tossing them, you can rinse/wash and reuse them. While there are some things you need to know about microfiber cloths, they can definitely help you use fewer paper towels, disposable dusters, and even glass and window cleaners.
