Perhaps it shouldn't be surprising that people on Amazon can get really enthusiastic about their travel mugs. (Specifically this travel mug from Contigo, which has more than 6,000 five-star reviews and counting.)

For daily coffee drinkers, caffeine delivery is up there with shelter and food in our hierarchy of needs. So a coffee mug that elegantly solves so many of the pitfalls of lesser models is, of course, going to get rave reviews.

Currently making do with a subpar mug? Three of Contigo's popular models are currently on sale, including this great deal on a two-pack of their best-selling West Loop travel mug.

Contigo West Loop Travel Mugs, $26 for two

So what makes people so excited about these travel mugs? For starters, the West Loop bottle is both leak- and spill-proof, meaning you can toss it into anything from a purse to a gym bag and not worry about it. While a completely leak-proof model is not exactly revolutionary, many require a lot of finagling. The West Loop has one-handed drinking, thanks to an easy-to-push button that allows you to sip.

Also, the hot beverage of your choice will stay hot for up to five hours. (Cold stuff stays chilled for up to 12 hours.) In fact, Contigo recommends letting hot beverages cool with the lid off for three minutes. Otherwise, you'll be waiting a long time to enjoy your piping-hot coffee!

The West Loop retails on Amazon every day for $15 (this is where we found the 6,000 happy reviewers). But for a limited time, you can get a two-pack for just $26. It's a great deal if you and a significant other are both brewing coffee on your way out the door, or even if you occasionally leave your coffee mug at work and would like a spare. (Whoops!)

Not a coffee drinker? Contigo also makes a tea infuser accessory for the West Loop.

Both the infuser and the Contigo mug are dishwasher-safe, including the lid. If you don't have a dishwasher, you might find the lid a little hard to wash and could prefer the Kitchn editor favorite, the Zojirushi mug. A bit pricier than the Contigo, it comes in a covetable rose gold color and is easier to hand-clean.
