Alton Brown’s Famous “Chicken with Bowler” Print Is Now Available for Just $35

If you’re an Alton Brown fan, a fan of his show Good Eats, or most likely both, you’re probably well familiar with the framed painting of a “chicken with bowler,” a work of art inspired by famed Belgian surrealist artist, René Magritte. True to Alton’s own wry, dry sense of humor the painting parody has made an appearance in nearly every episode of Good Eats since it first aired back in 1999. 

The wickedly popular show, teaching novice cooks and science geeks alike how to roast butterflied dry-brined turkey and “fry” potatoes in the oven, went on a seven-year hiatus beginning in 2012, returning as Good Eats Reloaded in the late winter and spring of 2019. On August 25, 2019, Good Eats Returns, a relaunch of Good Eats, premiered on Food Network to great fanfare. 

Well, the show is back hopefully for good, and the famous painting (clarification, print!) can be yours — if you want it. And for a great price!

Up to this point, the Chicken with Bowler print hasn’t been available for purchase, but likely due to demand and Reddit chatter, it’s up for sale on the celebrity cook’s newly launched shop. The limited-edition print is individually signed in ink by Brown himself, printed on 80-pound cover paper, and can be yours at the low cost of $35 — plus $5 shipping and handling for those in the United States and Canada. 

Just be forewarned, though, it will not be available in time for Valentine’s Day since it’s shipping out in late February, but it likely will be in time for those on your St. Paddy’s Day gift list (Is that even a thing? Let’s make it a thing!). Though, we really think you’ll probably just gift this one to yourself. Are we right?
