We’re big fans of affordable pantry finds, and Aldi is all about giving us what we want. Between the $2 walking tamales, the tinned fish, the 90-second quinoa and brown rice, and the $2 ramen bowls, the discount grocer is always willing to provide low-cost and tasty food finds that make our meals at home much easier. This week at Aldi, there’s a new pantry staple that we think you’re going to want to stock up on as the busy fall season begins. And, according to frequent Aldi shoppers, it’s a good one.

Shoppers can snag three different versions of this shelf-stable potato salad now available on Aldi shelves for just $1.49 a box: American (a traditional potato salad with a touch of mustard), Dill (a classic salad with a hint of dill), and Loaded (with cheddar cheese, sour cream, chives, and bacon). The salads include scalloped potatoes, and all you have to do is add mayo (or plain yogurt) and mix everything together. Yes, that’s really it.

Aldi shoppers are pleasantly surprised by how much they love this simple potato salad. One shopper posted on Reddit saying they plan on buying 10 boxes next time they go grocery shopping at Aldi after trying the Dill flavor, and they’re excited to give the American flavor a try as well.

These boxed potato salads are much easier to throw together than a homemade kind (although we do love this potato salad with arugula, yogurt, and dill), and make for a great last-minute option if you’re hosting any end-of-summer barbecues or even back-to-school potlucks as the fall season approaches.

Aldi is all about those affordable, shelf-stable pantry staples, including a variety of new boxed pasta salad options, which shoppers are saying on Reddit are very tasty and a great thing to have on hand.
