Aldi has no equal when it comes to delighting devoted shoppers (like me!) who love the thrill of the hunt. Among the ever-changing items that fill the aisles — from small-stock Aldi Finds, surprising seasonal goodies, and high-quality everyday bargains — there’s everything you need to spoil your special someone this Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re planning to make a special meal or just want to surprise someone (it’s okay if that’s you!) with a sweet treat, Aldi has you covered.

1. Golden Free Range Eggs, $2.39 per dozen

If the perfect Valentine’s Day starts with breakfast in bed, you’ll need these free range eggs stashed in the fridge. Consider upgrading everyday scrambled eggs with a drizzle of nice extra-virgin olive oil and flaky sea salt.

2. Pains au Chocolat, $2.99 for 8 rolls

Pairs is for lovers, especially on Valentine’s Day. If you don’t have plans to cross the Atlantic (I know I sure don’t!), serve your special someone a buttery, chocolate-filled brioche roll with a steaming cafe au lait.

3. Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Calzone, $1.99 each

There’s nothing more romantic than telling your Valentine, “I love you and I like you.” Pay tribute to the greatest love story ever told — Park and Rec’s Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt — with a toasty calzone and a whipped cream-topped waffle. (You’ll need to watch the show to get the reference.)

4. Specially Selected Fruit Spreads, $1.99 for 9.95 ounces

If baking is your love language, slide a batch of these jam-filled thumbprint cookies into the oven. Choose either the strawberry or raspberry spread for a ruby-red crown to top a cookie as elegant and sweet as this special day.

5. Berryhill Hazelnut Spread, $1.89 for 13 ounces

Aldi’s Nutella dupe is as smooth and sensual as Marvin Gaye’s voice. Whether you use the jar for these impossibly easy 2-ingredient brownies or eat it straight off of a spoon it’s not Valentines day without this chocolatey spread.

6. PurAqua Italian Sparkling Mineral Water, $1.49 for 33.8 ounces

Popping some bubbly on Valentine’s Day usually means a bottle of champagne. But this sparkling water is just thing thing if you’re not a drinker or simply looking for some fizzy without the hangover.

7. Bake Shop Triple Chocolate Creme Cake, $3.49

This triple chocolate cake is guaranteed to win the affection of any chocolate lover. Topped with a sweet chocolate glaze and chocolate chips, this rich and moist chocolate cake is so decadent and tender, it’s one of Aldi’s best bets this holiday.

8. Stonemill Himalayan Pink Salt, $1.79 for 3.53 ounces

A steak dinner served at home is always more romantic than feigning intimacy in a crowded restaurant. Bring a touch of Valentine’s pink to your party of two by seasoning your filets with Himalayan pink salt.

9. Little Salad Bar Beet Balsamic Vinaigrette, $3.49 for 11 ounces

You could spend Valentine’s Day eating only chocolate and steak, but we suggest eating a salad topped with this punchy pink dressing. You’ll thank us on Saturday.

10. Moser Roth Chocolate Truffles, $3.99 for 7 ounces

We’re not shy about how much we love Aldi’s chocolate selection, and if you haven’t tried their truffles there’s no better time to buy. Instead of heart-shaped boxes of sub-par sweets, show your Valentine how much you care with a box of rich and creamy European chocolates.
