ICYMI: Summer is here — and by here, we mean in the aisles at Aldi. The grocer’s hotly anticipated (at least by us!) summer drink collection is baaaaaack. Over a dozen new and returning cans, bottles, pouches, and pops just hit shelves. You’ll find several fan-favorites (some, like the pineapple mimosa, have a fresh new name and look) and exciting newcomers, including more fruit-forward bubbly and frozen cocktails for less than $5.

Speaking of budget-friendly, the entire lineup is $14 or less and available now through Labor Day, so refreshing sips and loads of cheersing can start now and extend well beyond the scorch-iest days of the season. We got a sneak peak at (and taste of!) some of the new class of 2023. Here are the three we’re most excited about.

1. Intermingle Chardonnay, $6.99 for 750ml

In a word: buttery. That’s how we’d describe this smooth California chardonnay that’s punching well above its $7 price tag. It’s casual (read: affordable) enough for an average weeknight dinner, and also something we’d feel good about bringing to a party. Plus, it comes with food pairing suggestions on the back — as do all Aldi wines, BTW.

2. Corte Bella Dark Red, $8.95 for 750ml

Red for summer? You betcha. The bottle is giving “Game of Thrones core” (as Recipe Production Coordinator, Justine Lee, puts it) and we are here for it. What’s inside, though, is just as enticing. The scent of dark berries — blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, black currant — is palpable in this chilled Italian blend. The flavor is sweet and fruity, and reminded us of the mixed berry jam you’d find in a glass-jarred yogurt.

3. Zarita Lemonade Freeze Pops, $13.99 for 12

Super fans of Aldi’s Zarita cocktail mixes might notice the iconic lady in the LBD and large sunnies has gone blonde to commemorate the launch of these new pops. And that’s because these hard seltzer freeze pops are all lemonade-based. We are living for the theme, and these adult-only ice pops with bold fruit and sweet-meets-tang flavor. Available in original (aka lemonade), mango, and strawberry flavors — and less than $1.20 per pop — they are the freezer staple of summer.
