This isn’t the first time Aldi has garnered some serious attention over its budget-friendly desserts (insert: $2 cheesecake twin packs). Superfans of the discount grocer love a sweet deal — Who doesn’t?! — and are quick to spot when a new one pops up.

The latest find? Boxes of the beloved Little Debbie Zebra Cakes. On a recent trip to Aldi, one shopper spotted the classic dessert on sale — for just $0.99. After sharing the discovery in an Aldi-dedicated Facebook group, fans have been sharing in the excitement and weighing in on how to take advantage of such a steal.

The buzz all started when a member recently posted a photo of a shelf full of Little Debbie Zebra Cakes with a cheeky caption: “How many should I get for .99?”

Little Debbie Zebra Cakes have been an American staple in households since the 1990s, and remain a go-to snack to this day. (They were also a standout in our comprehensive Little Debbie showdown.) The snack cakes are known for their creamy filling, fluffy cake layers, all encased with those iconic zebra frosting stripes. They’re an old-school treat that brings back all of the nostalgia feels. 

It’s no surprise that thousands of likes and comments poured in (until a moderator disabled comments on the post!), with shoppers encouraging the OG poster to buy in bulk. “Get the entire case and feel zero shame,” wrote one commenter with others suggesting to donate some and freeze the rest for later. Another simply asked, “What kind of question is this?! You get them all!”

Commenters offered even more helpful tips: “Get as many as you think necessary, especially if you have children in school or sports,” while another added, “Buy a handful to hand out for trick-or-treating or make something cute for a class party treat.” 

It’s not clear which location this poster stopped at and, judging from the comments, the cakes aren’t on sale at every Aldi. So you’ll want to call ahead before making a special trip to your local store (unless you’re already picking up your favorite weekly staples). Either way, one thing is for certain: This deal is simply too good to pass up.
