As German discount superstore Aldi drops brand-new groceries and seasonal home decor finds every month, we have to ask: Is there anything they can’t do? From clothes to candles to grilling gear, you can’t really call Aldi a grocery store anymore. And just in this month, there’s a dessert with a special hidden feature: a glass ramekin you can reuse after you’ve devoured the sweet treat.

Aldi’s Specially Selected Crème Brûlée is a two-for-one gem that’s going fast, according to Aldi superfans online. The creamy vanilla custard comes with a packet of golden caramel flakes for you to sprinkle on top, then roast with a blowtorch or throw in the oven for a few minutes to get that signature thin, crispy caramelized top — all for just $1.99.

Aside from how delicious it is, let’s talk about the real indulgence: The 3.5-ounce thick glass ramekin is (obviously) oven-safe, food-safe, and is perfect for cooking, crafts, and storage. (Think: making your own crème brûlées, jello cups, or other mini desserts, or filling it with dips, sauces and seasonings in your next hosting spread.) On the non-edible side of things, it’s just as useful for storing paper clips, toothpicks, jewelry, toiletries, and other trinkets. If you’re craftier than I am, you could even use them to make your own candles to keep or give away as gifts.

Shoppers on the Aldi Aisle of Shame Community Facebook group shared photos of the crème brûlée with comments about how tasty it is, and how they can’t wait to reuse the glass.

Aldi has sold a two-pack of their crème brûlées in the past for $5.49 in the freezer aisle (that came in these incredible ceramic bowls), but these refrigerated single-serve portions and their glass counterparts have only been seen on shelves a few times during big seasonal drops. Aside from these adorable bowls, this isn’t the first time Aldi’s stellar grocery finds have come with even better reusable packaging. We’ve seen tiramisu shot glasses, frozen seafood dishes in ceramic bowls, and, on the decor side, glass pumpkin candles and a wooden bowl candle that are ripe for repurposing. We love Aldi’s dedication to sustainability.

While the ramekins don’t come with tops (just a piece of thin foil), you can order some stretchy silicone lids off of Amazon for just a few bucks to make them even more versatile.

If you’re hoping to try these decadent desserts (or their incredible glass bowls), act fast … because they won’t last long. But don’t worry — we’re sure Aldi will be back with another reusable gem soon!
