Aldi Just Leaked Info on Dozens of New Groceries Hitting Stores This October — These Are the 14 We’re Most Excited About
Now that pumpkin season is officially behind us (JK, pumpkin season lasts until December!) and spooky season is here, we’re ready for a fresh batch of Aldi Finds. As luck would have it, our sources just shared the full list of groceries hitting the shelves in October. There’s going to be lots of Halloween grabs, charcuterie board essentials, and frozen favorites (pizza! Pasta! Veggies!). We combed the list and these are the 14 items we’re excited to get our hands on. Note: We ended up with 14 because 13 felt too spooky!
1. Emporium Selection Halloween Cheese Assortment, $3.99
Aldi is well-known for its funky cheeses (piña colada, anyone?) and they’ve done it again this month. This aged cheddar hits stores on October 13. And there are three more flavors where this one came from: Freaky Franken Sage Derby with dried sage, and two Wensleydale-style cheeses (one with strawberry and Prosecco, the other with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg — both equally festive!).
2. Specially Selected Cheese Pairing Spreads, $6.99
While you can have cheese without a spread, they really are a perfect pair. Available on October 15, the four fruity spreads (Fig & Honey, Pear & Cinnamon, Cherry & Rosemary, Apricot & Cumin) also come with pairing recommendations. To that we say, dust off your printer!
3. Specially Selected Assorted Sliced Meats Tray, $9.99
Good things continue to come in fours, with this selection of sliced, slow-aged artisanal meats that also hits shelves on October 15. If you’re the type of person who likes to buy your cured meat whole, Aldi has an assortment of premium salami ($4.29 each) in that department too.
4. Mama Cozzi’s Kale & Ricotta Deli Pizza, $4.79
Aldi has 15 different frozen pizzas dropping throughout the month (not including their Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Thin Crust Pizza Kit with Sauce)! It was tough to choose just one ‘za, but in the end this 12-inch thin-crust number topped with seasoned tomato sauce; kale; mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses; and dehydrated red bell and crushed red peppers took first position on our must-try list. It’s available starting October 20.
5. Clancy’s Cheese Pizza Flavored Pita Puffs, $1.99
For a different kind of pizza bite — a more portable, snack-sized bite — look for these cheese pizza-flavored baked pita puffs, hitting stores October 13. Meat-lovers: Pepperoni-pizza-flavored pita puffs (say that three times fast!) also exist.
6. Clancy’s Cinnamon Churros, $.99
Sweet, crispy, twisty, cinnamon-y churro twists are yours to have starting October 20. We’ll take three bags, please.
7. Specially Selected Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli, $3.49
Aldi is leaning into Italian flavors this month (more on that below). Starting October 13, you’ll find these ravioli — filled with mozzarella, ricotta, provolone, and Parmesan cheeses flavored with dry-cured smoked ham — in the freezer section alongside their Braised Beef Ravioli, Shrimp & Crab Ravioli, Basil & Pine Nut, and Goat Cheese & Caramelized Onion counterparts. Do we smell a taste test?
8. Simply Nature Red Lentil Rotini, $2.69
Do you like your pasta sans gluten? This red lentil rotini is gluten-free, high in fiber, and a good source of protein (21 grams per serving). And it’s available starting October 20, as is the chickpea penne, which has 19 grams of protein per serving. Don’t want to wait? The green or yellow lentil lasagna sheets drop October 6.
9. Specially Selected Tiramisu, $5.99
And for dessert: tiramisu. The classic Italian dessert is made with instant coffee-soaked ladyfingers and layers of mascarpone cream topped with cocoa powder. If you’re craving something a little more chill, we suggest Sundae Shoppe’s Tiramisu Gelato. Both are in stores starting October 13.
10. L’oven Fresh Tandoori Naan Bread Plain, $2.89
Pizza, check. Pasta, check, check. Onto the bread! This traditional Indian-style flatbread, baked in a tandoori oven, is available on October 20 and perfect for serving with a variety of dips, meats, and veggies. It comes in plain or garlic flavors.
11. Yummy Panko Chicken Nuggets, $9.49
Available in the freezer section starting October 20, these nuggets are made with a crunchy panko breading, which has a drier and flakier consistency than regular breadcrumbs. And, in the spirit of variety, they’re just one of four new chicken offerings: Yummy Whole Grain Chicken Fries and Tyson Air Fried Chicken Strips are also available October 20; Kirkwood Buffalo Style Zings will be out starting October 27.
12. Season’s Choice Steamed Elote Style Corn, $2.19
Frozen veggies are a year-round staple. But for fall, we’re particularly interested in the heat this fire-roasted, super-sweet corn (with cotija cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and chili spice) will bring to our tables. Pick a bag up on October 20.
13. Breakfast Best Sausage Breakfast Skillet, $3.49
If you can crack six eggs, you can make this breakfast skillet filled with potatoes, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, onions, and pork sausage crumble. It’s ready in just 14 minutes on the stovetop and serves two. It’s available October 27 — just in time for the Halloween weekend!
14. Hershey’s Chocolate Miniatures Assortment, $9.94
If you take nothing else away from this list, mark this date: October 13. That’s the day Aldi drops this 110 miniature-piece variety pack of Reese’s, Kit Kats, Heath Bars, Whoppers, Milk Duds, and Rolos. If you’re more of a Mars person (e.g., M&Ms, Snickers, Skittles, Twix), Aldi will have three different-sized variety bags for your choosing, available the same day.
