The $3 Aldi Pantry Find That Won’t Last Long (Plus 8 More New Finds!)
While March is technically (and officially) the start of spring, April is where the season really finds its stride. Nowhere is that more apparent right now than this latest batch of Aldi Finds. The team at Aldi gave us a sneak peak at what’s to come this month, and the wildly popular discount grocer is shepherding in a new era of easy eats, preferably enjoyed outdoors with a chilled glass (or can) in hand.
Once again, there are dozens of new and returning seasonal items hitting shelves over the next 30 days. Dump cake essentials! Grilling shortcuts! Creamy dips! And more! We narrowed down the list to our top nine — nearly all of which fit in just as nicely at a routine Wednesday night dinner as a big ol’ family reunion. Let’s take a look!
1. Baker’s Corner Strawberry Pie Filling & Topping, $2.99
If you haven’t “dumped” your way to an irresistible dessert, consider this can — and its blueberry cousin — your sign to start. Both flavors are available April 12, and are integral in three-ingredient (just swap the apple for strawberry) and four-ingredient dump cakes. Don’t forget the ice cream!
2. Specially Selected Sea Salt Norwegian Crispbread, $2.99
These thin yet sturdy crispbreads are limited by your imagination only. Available in both sea salt and everything flavors on April 10, you can load them up with your favorite toppings — hummus, cheeses, fruits, meats, and more — for a crowd-pleasing snack or a full-on lunch for one.
3. Park Street Deli Hatch Green Chili Cheddar Dip, $2.79
You could easily make a meal out of this creamy dip (or the Parmesan, Asiago, and Garlic one — both are available April 12) or you can spread the joy around. Schmear some on your favorite sandwiches, stir into eggs, or add a dollop to baked potatoes and stuffed peppers.
4. liveGfree Gluten Free 4-Cheese Tortelloni, $3.89
Slightly larger than their Italian cousins, these tortelloni are stuffed with mozzarella, asiago, Parmesan, and ricotta, and are a no-brainer in this super-easy pasta salad. But don’t stop there. Pop them in the air fryer for an easy appetizer or onto skewers for a fun spin on antipasto. Available April 17.
5. Kirkwood Mediterranean-Style Chicken Burgers, $8.99
These frozen burgers are perfect for last-minute dinners and low-key lunches. Weighing in at a hefty 1/3 pound, these come packed with red onions, spinach, roasted red peppers, feta, olive oil, and spices — in other words, a party in a patty. Look for them in the freezer section on April 12 and grab a pack of buns on your way out.
6. Burman’s Spicy Bulgogi BBQ Sauce, $2.99
The best bottles of barbecue sauce are balanced (read: not too sweet, or runny, or bland) and ideal for dipping/marinating all the things you’d want. We have such high hopes for this sweet and spicy sauce made with soy sauce, pear juice, ginger, and crushed red pepper that we can actually hear the meat sizzling on the grill. Find it and two other flavors — a sweet and tangy Japanese-style and sweet and savory Korean-style — in stores April 12.
7. Season’s Choice Garlic Parmesan Fries, $3.79
Would you like fries with that? Yes! Yes we would — especially when they’re coated in a garlic Parmesan seasoning. Find them in the freezer section on April 10. Up their crisp-factor by cooking the shoestring fries in the air fryer.
8. Bellucini Spritz, $6.99
Spring is also the unofficial start to Aperol Spritz Season. Here you can skip the admittingly simple recipe and launch straight into cheersing with a glass of this vibrant Aperol-inspired wine cocktail available April 12. Pour over ice and garnish with an orange slice, if you’re feeling pinkies-up fancy.
9. Sundae Shoppe Mini Vanilla Ice Cream Cones, $4.79
Sure, these chocolate-dipped vanilla ice cream cones are adorable, but that’s just one tiny reason we can’t wait to stash a box of these in our freezer. Available April 12, the mini cones are a total dupe for a very popular Trader Joe’s dessert and majorly snackable.
