Aldi’s Limited-Time Everything Croissants Have Officially Ruined Regular Croissants
Have you ever had a croissant that you didn’t like? Yeah, me neither. Because as annoying as they are to make, there’s no world in which flaky, buttery dough comes out badly. Croissants are delicious! Chocolate croissants are even more delicious! And starting April 10, Aldi stores will be carrying a croissant that will ruin all other croissants for you.
Say hello to these new Specially Selected Croissants WITH EVERYTHING SEASONING.
I got to try them yesterday morning during a special spring brunch with Aldi. At first glance, I was actually disappointed. I wanted them to have MORE everything seasoning. As in, completely covering the top. (No one likes getting an everything bagel that’s just lightly sprinkled with seasoning!) I ate one anyway (I mean…) and that’s when I realized: There was more everything seasoning — between the layers of rolled dough. I got loads of onion, garlic, salt, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds with every bite. The dough was flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside. And all that flavor! How have I never seen an everything croissant before?!
I should note that there was also an herb and cheese option, which I didn’t even try. And that speaks volumes about the everything croissants if you know how much I love cheese!
When I say these everything croissants ruined other croissants for me, I mean it. Which makes it especially brutal to point out that these are an Aldi Find, meaning they will only be in stores for a week or so — unless execs decide to bring them back for a bit or add them permanently. If they don’t, I guess, from now, I have to add my own everything seasoning to each croissant I eat?
Look for them in stores on April 10. A four-pack will retail for $3.89.
