The $5 Aldi Gem That Instantly Upgrades Your Kitchen (and Won’t Last Long)
Ever get tired of cooking in the same old kitchen? Simple DIY upgrades and embellishments are a great way to add a little pizzazz to your kitchen (as well as your cooking and hosting routines) without breaking the bank. I’ve personally changed the knobs on my kitchen cabinets and added a peel-and-stick backsplash, and I can’t tell you how much joy the quick additions of color and texture bring me when I cook. But German discount superstore Aldi just got the key to the latest budget-friendly instant kitchen trick: CASALUX Motion-Sensing LED Lights.
These new smart motion-sensing lights stick onto any surface and provide bright LED lighting wherever you might need a little extra wow factor — all for only $4.99 each. Yes, really! At 7.5-by-1.18-inches, they’re perfect for placing under your kitchen cabinets or pantry shelves, or in other dark storage spots. No supplies are needed for installation as they come with adhesive and the four required AA batteries. (No cords or outlets needed.) Sorry, Amazon, but we haven’t seen wireless lights at a price this good before.
With no switch or need to turn the light on and off while you’re cooking, these lights make brightening your space as hands-free (and mess-free) as ever. In a post on the Aldi Aisle of Shame Community Facebook group, shoppers shared some of the places where they are using these awesome lights in their home: as night-lights, at the bottom of their stairs, in their pantry, chicken coops, closets, and in their emergency kits in case the power goes out.
One Aldi shopper shared her review of the lights to TikTok, where you can see how bright it is as soon as she opens her storage closet.
She notes that “the adhesive is really strong,” and the light is “nice and bright” at a steal of a price, especially considering that batteries are included. We love that she grabbed a handful of them, including some to give away as stocking stuffers, as “this is exactly the practical little present” she likes to get. I couldn’t relate more!
