Two months into the school year, my son was moved into an early morning math class. While I’m happy he’s enjoying the balancing of algebraic calculations, my morning routine got thrown off balance. You see, our already-rushed mornings have been condensed from 45 to 25 minutes, so making a filling breakfast (that he will actually eat!), and getting him dressed and out the door on time has become a nearly impossible equation to solve.

That is, until I found the answer to our breakfast dilemma in the freezer section at Aldi: Breakfast Best Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches.

What’s So Great About Breakfast Best Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches?

These sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches are ready in under three minutes, which is more than enough time for me to get caffeinated. I’m not making breakfast from scratch, so I can focus on keeping my son on task to brush his teeth, remember his homework, and get out the door to get to school on time. And because I wrap the sandwich in a paper towel (per the instructions on the box), he can grab it and munch on it on the way to school when he sleeps through his alarm or we’re running behind our tight schedule.

The croissant is soft and slightly flaky, the pork sausage is savory and properly proportioned, the American cheese is gooey, and the scrambled egg is slightly chewy. It’s nothing fancy, but it is tasty, and it’s out-the-door, easy-peasy. Aldi also sells a biscuit version and an English muffin version of this sandwich, and sometimes we alternate with the English muffin sandwiches, which taste nearly identical to a certain coffee chain’s sandwiches.

The rest of my family also enjoys these brunch-able croissants occasionally on the weekends (usually when I’m not in the mood to cook), and they’ve even been used as a quick breakfast-for-dinner option when I had a book deadline to meet. The breakfast sandwiches have become a regular problem-solver in my household, and I think they’ll remain a morning staple come next year’s geometry class.

Find it in stores: Breakfast Best Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches, $5.19 for 4 sandwiches
