We filled hundreds of Aldi’s quarter-fueled carts this year. Every visit to the discount grocer took us through the Aisle of Shame, down the bakery aisle (can’t leave without a loaf or four of my favorite bread), and finally to the freezer section. We kept our homes stocked with tried-and-true favorites like the famous Red Bag Chicken and drove for miles to make sure we had our favorite breakfast sausage

After all of this culinary consideration, we’ve narrowed our lengthy list of freezer favorites down to just five items — and they all have one thing in common. Here are the very best Aldi frozen vegetables (and veggie blends!) we bought in 2024.

1. Season’s Choice Riced Cauliflower, $1.69 for 12 ounces

Just because the cauliflower craze has come and gone doesn’t mean you have to give up entirely on this versatile ingredient. The convenience of having riced cauliflower in the freezer should not be understated because it allows you to pack even more vegetables into your meals without having to deal with any of the prep work. We add riced cauliflower to every meal of the day: creamy smoothies, pizza crusts, fried cauliflower rice, and more. Plus, Aldi’s riced cauliflower costs less than $2, which is about half the price you might pay at your local chain grocery store.

2. Season’s Choice Mixed Vegetables, $0.95 for 12 ounces

Our second pick is one that you can find at about any grocery store, but the price is why we buy it at Aldi. This mix of frozen green beans, peas, carrots, and corn costs less than $1 for a 12-ounce bag. Frozen mixed vegetables are always on our grocery lists because they are already prepped and recipe-ready. We use these vegetables almost every day, adding them to creamy casseroles, hearty pot pies, macaroni and cheese, and more.

3. Season’s Choice Hash Browns Shredded Potatoes, $3.89 for 30 ounces

You’ll find Aldi’s frozen hash brown potatoes in our carts — a lot. For less than $4, we get a large, 30-ounce, bag of the starchy vegetable that we can use to serve a crowd for brunch or dish out over several mornings. The hash browns are an essential ingredient in one of our favorite breakfasts: hash brown casserole. Just don’t forget to use our signature “shake rule” before adding these frozen hash browns to your own cart.

4. Season’s Choice Garlic Parmesan Roasted Vegetables, $2.99 for 15 ounces

Some bags of frozen vegetables are prepped and unseasoned (see our first three picks above), yet still give dinners a jump start. Others are our Hail Mary dinnertime play. Season’s Choice Garlic Parmesan Roasted Vegetables fall firmly into that second category because they come prepped and pre-seasoned. We’ve tossed them onto a baking sheet for a zero-effort side to go with a fried egg or browned sausages. They’re also a delicious addition to tacos and frittatas.

5. Season’s Choice Butternut Squash Blend, $3.29 for 16 ounces

This frozen mix of butternut squash, spinach, red onion, and cranberries in a garlicky herb sauce is the quick-cooking veggie side you need to ride out the rest of 2024 and slide into 2025. The ready-to-cook, seasonally on-point blend is easy to dress up with some crunchy toasted nuts or shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano. Sure, you could make this medley all on your own, but at just $3.29 for the bag, why would you?
