These Single-Serve Brownie Cups Are Perfect for Valentine’s Day — And You Can Make Them in Your Air Fryer
The air fryer has become a kitchen mainstay, as its recipe possibilities are seemingly endless. In fact, our shopping director has been using her Instant Pot air fryer exclusively for almost a whole year. While we most commonly think of it for savory dishes, like wings and fries, it can hold its own for any meal of the day — including dessert!
As Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, for those of us planning a romantic meal at home, our ovens will probably be occupied with main courses and appetizers. Thanks to content creator Eloise Head, though, you’ll be able to save some space by making a classic chocolatey dessert right in your air fryer.
Eloise — who’s known as @FitwaffleKitchen online — recently shared a recipe on Instagram where she uses an air fryer to make adorable little brownie cups. And while she shares in the caption of the post that the brownies are “crisp on top and warm and gooey in the middle,” one of the most exciting elements is that they require only six ingredients.
She starts by melting dark chocolate with salted butter until smooth. This can be done in the microwave or on the stovetop — whatever you prefer. You’ll want to mix the melted chocolate mixture well, letting it cool for about 10 minutes. Then add an egg and caster sugar (granulated sugar is a great substitute), whisking until combined, before adding in the flour and chocolate chips. The chips you use here can be whatever your preference, whether it be milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or even white chocolate.
This mixture gets gently folded into two ramekins and goes straight into the air fryer for about 15 minutes. The recipe calls for them to be cooked on 160°C — which translates to about 320°F — before enjoying.
While these sweet little brownie cups can also be done in the oven, making them in the air fryer saves time and space — and that’s always a big value in any busy home kitchen.
