According to the CDC Foodborne Illness Is on a Decline

Despite recent bouts of listeria hitting some of our favorite ice cream producers, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms they’ve seen a decline in foodborne illnesses.

They say the rate of E. coli and salmonella illnesses caused by the consumption of undercooked meat and poultry, and in some cases even vegetables, have decreased between 2008 and 2014.

They’re hopeful that better food safety practices have had an impact on the decline, and will continue in this direction going forward.
