Inspired by one of our favorite soups, we’re breaking out the slow cooker for a warm, creamy, veggie-flecked cheese dip that will get your crowd cheering.

Why Your Dip Deserves This Upgrade

This riff replicates the satisfying indulgence of broccoli cheddar soup, with a warm dip that relies on your slow cooker and the convenience of the freezer aisle. All you need is some thawed, frozen chopped broccoli to pull it off.

How to Make It

Set your slow cooker to warm and add about 2 cups of cheese dip (homemade or store-bought) to the bowl. Stir in about 1/2 cup of thawed, frozen chopped broccoli. Heat until the broccoli is warm, then serve straight from the slow cooker. Double (or triple) as necessary.

With the help of just a few staple ingredients you probably have on hand already, you can turn a batch of homemade or store-bought dip into an impressive appetizer loaded with more texture and big flavor. This series gives you the inspiration to turn a basic bean, cheese, or yogurt dip into the MVP of the Super Bowl spread.
