A Sleek Slicing Knife for Thanksgiving

Once you’ve thawed, brined, and baked your Thanksgiving bird, the only remaining task is to carve it. Here’s where it goes to pot for many of us, though, as we’ve forgotten to bring our sharpest knife. Don’t make that mistake this year. Get your knives sharpened, and if one of them is this sleek knife from Zwilling J.A. Henckels, so much the better.

Willing sent along this eight-inch knife for use in our Thanksgiving shoot this year, and I was glad to have it. I usually use a basic chef’s knife for carving a turkey, and while that works fine, having a slimmer carving knife makes the task of slicing the joints and breast meat easier. The knife slips between bone and joints and lets you be a little more nimble and precise in your cuts. I also found the handle and bolster of this knife to be very comfortable to handle for long periods of carving.

As a tool for Thanksgiving turkey and for other holiday meats and roasts, this is a fine pick.
