A Historical and Hand-Crafted “Folk Nouveau” Kitchen in Rhode Island
There are so many interesting textures and details in David and Jennifer’s Jamestown, Rhode Island kitchen — the first being that the house it’s in is a restored colonial home from 1787!
With a self-described “folk nouveau” style, David and Jennifer get their inspiration from old barns, antiques, and nature. They got a great deal on the Australian Cypress floorboards for the kitchen, while the tiled backsplash behind the sink was made by David in collaboration with a ceramist friend.
The kitchen table and chairs were custom made, while the benches were picked up the Brimfield Antique Show! (The light fixture? That’s a resin replica of deer antlers that David found in a Fishing and Hunting goods magazine.)
There’s a lot of personality and love that went into this kitchen — you can just tell!
