Jewelry-designer Alison Macleod loves beautiful things, both old and new, and her two-bedroom Glasgow flat is filled with collected objects that tell a story — in fact, Alison says her friends are always intrigued “by all of [the] bits and bobs” around the apartment, including in the kitchen!

It’s now a bright, airy, and eclectic room, but the kitchen used to be a “dark ‘outer space’ themed mess,” as Alison said in this Apartment Therapy House Tour. For six months Alison and her partner Paul cooked in the hallway while they slowly worked on the kitchen. (“I became a master of the one pot wonder,” Alison said.)

Now the kitchen is a wonderful, homey place to cook and eat, as well as a place to hold some of Alison’s ever-growing collection of contemporary craft and antique treasures.
