When thinking about what to put at the center of your table, why not use something you actually need? Like light!
So often we clutter our tables with thematic decor that takes up space and gets in the way. Using light as your focal piece is an elegant and easy way to make your table look creatively curated and perfectly paired down. Plus, it'll help you see your dinner.
One of my favorite tricks for using light as decoration is to fill lanterns, vases, Mason jars, and old bottles (anything really!) with small delicate strand lights. More is more in this case — the more lights you can get on the table, the more sparkle you will bring to your design.

Try Urban Outfitters firefly string lights. At $28 for 15 feet of copper wire and LED lights, they're a bit spendy, but I guarantee you'll use them again and again.

As for your vessels, it's nice to mix and match for a diverse and interesting collection of shapes and sizes. I like to stick to metallic and glass pieces; if you're in the market for lanterns, West Elm's brass-faceted ones will keep your setting nice and shiny.
