5 Tasty Bites for a Tiny Brunch Party
Breakfast and brunch have long been my favorite meals, largely thanks to the huge variety of options. You can go savory, you can go sweet, or you can even combine the two for the best of both worlds. Honestly, the only thing I don’t like about brunch is having to choose. What if I want the french toast and a lox-topped bagel?
One option is to just overindulge, but here’s a better solution: Just make everything mini! When everything comes pre-portioned and handheld, it’s easier to try a little of everything. And the truly wonderful thing is that no matter which option you choose, you’ll still have a hand free for a mimosa.
The Game Plan
It might be a little daunting to cook all of this at once, but everything will go smoothly if you follow these easy pre-party tips!
If you’re making the pastry for the mini cheese danish from scratch (I promise, it’s a piece of cake), be sure to give yourself a little extra time to prep and chill it up to four days before. And for the sake of not having to rush to clean flour off of the kitchen counter the morning of, shape and bake the danishes the night before the party.
While you’re at it, cube the bread for the French toast and leave it out overnight to stale. Drier bread absorbs more custard, which means tastier French toast bites for you!
From there, enlist the help of a couple of friends! Mix up an initial pitcher of mimosas the day of to get things rolling when they arrive. Put one friend on bagel duty and set them to work toasting, schmearing, and stacking.
If you have a griddle, great! Set it up and put one friend to work flipping pancakes. If not, no worries — just get cozy around the stovetop while you work on the French toast cubes. Afterward, you mix and bake the monkey bread medley while your friends put the finishing touches on the pancake tacos and the French toast kebabs.
By the time your guests arrive, your house will smell amazing and you’ll be ready to party!
