Dip is a get-together classic, and it’s often the most-appreciated dish at any big party or potluck. It’s just the thing if you want only a little taste of something. Forget the pigs in a blanket and the mini cupcakes — gimme the dip! But be warned: Once people try this “million-dollar dip” they’re not going to stop at just one bite.

The million-dollar dip is really just five ingredients, mixed together: mayonnaise, green onions, slivered almonds, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. It’s fresh, crunchy, and cheesy, and the best thing about it is that the entire recipe takes less than five minutes to prepare. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until they’re well-combined, and then chill the bowl for a couple hours before the party. The only other thing you’ll need is a bag of your favorite chips or crackers.

A big bowl of dip like this is absolutely the easiest option if you have to bring a dish to a party or get-together. It’s also perfect if you find yourself at the center of an unexpected gathering, like if some cousins are in the neighborhood and drop by to watch TV, or if you expected to have one teenager in your house, but you suddenly have seven (and they’re all hungry). This cool dip will keep everyone fed and have everyone talking about what a great cook you are, even though it only took you five ingredients and a few minutes of stirring to make it.
