Friends and family, gather round — I’d like to tell you all a magical tale. Once there was a woman named Nancy, who had very little time to make dinner (DO YOU RELATE?) so she bought a slow cooker in hopes that it would help. Nancy poured her heart into many a recipe, and found that there was still too much prep work involved, and her family passed out from hunger pains before she could put dinner on the table.

So she huffed and she puffed and she scoured the internet and found all the best slow cooker recipes with five ingredients or less (SHOCK!). These recipes have now been passed down generation through generation and I’m very happy to report that I’m now in possession of this mighty list. BEHOLD!

1. White Chicken Chili from Gimme Some Oven

Be like Nancy and make this chili for dinner! It’s warming and comforting and all you need is like, chicken stock and chicken and some other pantry stuff.

2. Kale & Chorizo Soup from The Family Freezer

This soup looks like it has more than five ingredients, but it doesn’t! How cool is that? You need some chorizo (duh), some kale (double duh), and then some garlic, diced tomatoes, and veggie broth.

During the cold winter months, Nancy liked to make her family a huge thing of oatmeal. How quaint!

4. Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken from Dinner Then Dessert

The other three ingredients that are not in the title of this recipe are salt and pepper. THAT’S IT, YOU GUYS.

5. Lasagna Soup from Thirty Handmade Days

Nancy’s daughter Kristy used to love when she made this for her on a school night. It felt special. She felt whole.

6. Italian Beef Sandwiches from Iowa Girl Eats

Family, amiright? If you gotta feed ’em, this sandwich recipe will do.

7. Sriracha Chicken from Leelaliciious

Stuff this spicy chicken into a store-bought tortilla and call it dinner, okay?

8. Pot Roast from A Mind “Full” Mom

When Nancy’s husband got back from a long voyage for work, she would make this hearty meal and he would be happy. He’d feel whole.

9. Taco Bake from Kim’s Cravings

Nope, you’re wrong, this recipe only has five ingredients. I swear! Even the black olives are accounted for!

1. Mac and Cheese from Dinner with Julie

Hell yeah there’s a five-ingredient mac and cheese recipe on Nancy’s list!
