While trick-or-treating and all the candy-filled fun that comes with it is the highlight for kids on Halloween, there’s a school day to complete before the best part of the holiday commences. So why not tuck something special into your child’s lunch box to kick off all that fun a little early? These five sweet treats are Halloween-approved snacks that are a little spooky, extra cute, and sure to be a lunch box hit.

These marshmallow spiders — coated with either grape-flavored Nerds or crushed Whoppers — really couldn’t be more adorable. Just be sure to pack them carefully, as their licorice legs are delicate.

Channel your pumpkin-carving talents for these extra-cute cookies and have fun cutting out all sorts of different faces. They’re packed with the season’s flavors, too, thanks to a soft pumpkin-spiced cookie and a chocolate filling.

These spooky, edible “teeth” are nothing but mini marshmallows sandwiched between two apple slices with nut butter holding them in place. Brush the cut side of the apples with a little lemon juice to keep them from browning before lunchtime.

To make this festive treat extra easy to assemble, reach for your favorite boxed brownie mix. Then it’s simply a matter of decorating each square to create the edible monsters.

This DIY treat is definitely a bit of a project, but it’s a fun and rewarding one if you’ve got serious candy corn fans in your household — they’ll be extra excited to see a bag of these in their lunch box.
