5 Australian Food Bloggers You Need to Follow
Australian cafes have been popping up here in the U.S., boasting bright, sunny interiors and healthy-ish dishes like avocado toast and gluten-free banana bread. There’s something about their casual-cool approach to food — with simple dishes that let the ingredients do the talking — that I just can’t get enough of.
My love for these cafes led me on a hunt for Australian food bloggers with a similar ethos. If you’re looking for gorgeous photography and delicious recipes, these are the five Australian bloggers you should follow.
Peter’s blog, Souvlaki for the Soul, is an ode to his Greek heritage and current home of Sydney, Australia. With inventive recipes like mango and coconut cake with a passionfruit glaze (pictured above) and chickpea and quinoa burgers with halloumi, you can taste a little slice of Australia and Greece — right from the comfort of your own home.
At the helm of this wildly popular blog is Katie Quinn Davies, who currently lives in Sydney, Australia. Expect stunning photographs of artfully styled food and lots of interesting pasta recipes (pictured above is a soft sheep’s cheese, smoked salmon, baby pea, and mint pasta). Yeah, my stomach just growled too.
If you’re looking for drool-worthy baked goods, like the old-fashioned doughnuts with salted caramel glaze pictured above, check out Sarah Coates’ The Sugar Hit. You’ll also find savory recipes here too, like chipotle pulled pork tacos and chorizo and burnt tomato pizza. Sarah’s site unapologetically avoids specific diets or food fads — she just makes what she wants to eat, and it all looks incredible.
4. Cafe Delites
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Karina is a cancer survivor with a true zest for life and love of food. On her blog, Cafe Delites, she’s all about bringing you easy, wholesome food with big flavor, which is evident in recipes like her one-pan honey mustard chicken & potatoes (pictured above) and 10-minute portobello pizzas.
I first found Nagi’s blog, RecipeTin Eats, when scouring the internet for my Delicious Links column. And her recipes are just that — delicious. Whether you’re in the mood for a Mexican corn salad (pictured above) or Thai red curry with chicken and mango, these flavorful dishes will transport you all over the world.
