Classic banana pudding is comfort by the spoonful, but Nilla wafers and boxed pudding mix aren’t exactly foods you want to eat every day. That’s why I love this “cheater” banana pudding from Melissa of The Faux Martha, which is made with three simple ingredients and takes just five minutes to assemble.

This dessert was inspired by a sample from Trader Joe’s, which layered sliced bananas with Trader Joe’s vanilla wafer cookies and — in place of pudding — vanilla yogurt! Simple, but it was apparently so good that when Melissa’s husband snagged the last sample, the woman behind him proceeded to follow him around the store resentfully. Dessert rage? It must be good.

After layering the ingredients in ramekins, you refrigerate the puddings for five hours to soften the cookies into an easy, creamy dessert that is almost healthy enough to eat for breakfast. (Hey, no judgement here.)
