While we love cute aprons, if you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, you may need something a bit sturdier and less likely to show stains. Plus, something dainty isn't always the best choice if you're sharing stove time (and aprons) with your significant other.
These three finds, while pricey, are guaranteed to last a lifetime — and they look smart on everyone.
A collaboration between Chloe Dao, a veteran of Project Runway, and Chris Shepherd of Underbelly in Houston, this apron is made of sturdy denim and has a split in the front, which makes it easier to move in. Plus, the leather straps that form a "T" shape in the back are a nice detail we haven't seen before.
Hedley and Bennett will probably be the most familiar name on this list. The LA-based company has been making quality colorful aprons for a while now. We love this new addition to the line. The two-tone apron is made of denim that's been pre-washed so it's soft yet durable.
Where would we be without the classic striped apron? This version from Jones of Boerum Hill is made from 100 percent cotton denim (which means it might shrink a little if you put it in the dryer). There's no chance of a strap breaking here, thanks to the heavy-duty brass grommets that attach the straps to the apron.
