10 Tasty Dinners To Serve On The Cheap

Although sometimes it can seem like feeding the family costs more and more these days (especially after leaving the grocery store), there's many meals that can be made for super small amounts and are perfect to add into your rotation to help keep costs down.

First Row, Left To Right
How To Make Potato Pancakes: This could be the original blood from a stone style recipe. Potatoes are always inexpensive and this recipe yields a plethora of fat, filling cakes!
How To Make Chili: Even though this recipe calls for many ingredients, chili is quite known for working with what you have. Short on vegetables? No worries! Just toss in what you have and even experiment with something new if you're feeling bold.
Quick Weeknight Meal: Bean Burrito Wraps: This is another recipe that works with what you have on hand and is ok if you don't have something on the list. Try adding bits of leftover proteins from the fridge or those last two tablespoons of salsa in the bottom of the jar!
Beef-Free Bean Burgers: Even though this recipe does call for pecans which aren't known for their low prices, you should be able to find a small bag (you only need 1/2 cup) for a few bucks. The rest comes from a well stocked pantry and you're ready to roll!
Quick and Easy Homemade Taquitos: This recipe starts with a pork shoulder that's been rubbed and roasted for awhile and although that carries a higher price tag, this recipe makes more taquitos than you can eat during the Superbowl. Did we mention they freeze great for easy reheating in a hurry?

Second Row, Left To Right
Week Night Recipe: Old-Fashioned Sloppy Joes: There's not much to say about Sloppy Joes, except, make sure you invite us to dinner!
How To Make French Onion Soup At Home: When it comes to making the most of your dollar, this recipe wins hands down when it comes to taste and money spent.
Make Ahead Recipe: Twice Baked Potatoes: These potato boats make up easy in advance and can include as many ingredients as you wish. You can also top them with additional cheese or veggies you have on hand that might need to be used up!
How To Make Pasta: Tips From My Italian-Mother-In-Law: Sauces can be made from anything and everything you happen to have on hand, but making a large batch of pasta and freezing what you don't need not only costs mere pennies, but means dinner is always 3 minutes away... exactly!
Southwest Skillet Ragu: Think of this meal as easy and inexpensive to make as Hamburger Helper, but ours has actual taste and texture! Bonus!
