Wokcorn: Does the Best Popcorn Come From a Wok?

We love homemade popcorn made on the stovetop! This morning Stephanie shared a great tip for making popcorn on the stove, and it reminded me of this story I just read at Leite's Culinaria. Stir-Frying to the Sky’s Edge author Grace Young says you should make popcorn in your wok! She says this will give you perfect popcorn, but also do one other very, very handy thing.

What else will popcorn in your wok do? Well, season your wok! Yes, the oil spattering and flying everywhere from the popcorn will go a long way towards helping create a fine finish on your wok. We are now wondering about other cast iron pots in our kitchens; maybe we should try making popcorn (a very little bit of it) in our cast iron skillet?
