Q: I've just recently started canning and am running into a problem across all recipes that I try. I never seem to get the yield stated by the recipe. The recipe that I just finished was supposed to yield 10 to 12 jars; I got 5. The flavor and set look good, but the quantity just doesn't work out, and it happens across the board.
If the recipe says six, I'll get four. I've been searching the Internet for others with a similar problem, but haven't had any luck. You seem to have a plethora of knowledge — any suggestions?
