Who Drew the Sriracha Rooster?

Sriracha hot sauce has become a household name, and the bottle with the drawing of the proud rooster has become iconic.

But who drew that rooster? The artist of this now-famous mark has been lost to time, says the founder of Huy Fong Foods, the maker of Sriracha.

Modern Farmer digs in a little to the origins of this distinctive mark:

The genesis of this iconic image took place back in the ‘70s, on the streets of a war-ridden Vietnam. David Tran, Vietnam native and founder of Huy Fong Foods, stumbled upon a street artist. Tran asked for a drawing of a rooster, and the rest was history.
