While I was growing up I remember sitting down at the kitchen table to enjoy my breakfast before dashing out to school. As I got older I usually grabbed some grub and ate it on the way to class. Now in my older, more wiser years, I've graduated to eating at the computer while I read my morning blogs. At this rate, by the time I'm 70 I'll be doing good if I even close the refrigerator door before downing my morning snack! What about you? What's your morning breakfast routine?
Many folks are eating breakfast on the go in the morning and although we all know it's probably best if we sit down and take a few moments to consume our food, we're willing to bet many of you don't have the time.
Do you get your morning meal in while riding the train to work? While stuck in traffic? Do you go to the office early and eat something at your desk? Tell us where you eat your morning meal in the comments below!

i've never been huge on breakfast, it was always fight with my mother, when i was a child, to get me to even eat a piece of toast. in high school, i left the house before 6am so it was way too early for me to eat anything. away at college, my breakfast (a bottle of water, a cigarette and 2 tic tacs) was "consumed" while walking to class. only now that i am an adult (sort of) do i eat a piece of fruit or something while checking emails or reading the news at my desk when i get to work.
I have my breakfast either at my dining table or on my couch...in both instances its me, my computer, and my breakfast.
I suppose I may be a bit lucky, though, because I don't have to rush into work at a pre-determined time. (I teach at a college and have late morning and early afternoon classes.) It gives me a bit of flexibility in the morning to wake up slowly and savor my breakfast.
If I'm not dashing out the door with a banana (the ultimate running-late breakfast) I usually do the coffee and toast thing in front of the computer while I answer e-mails and read my blogs too! It's a relaxing way to start the day but a big part of me wished we could wake ourselves up early enough for those breakfast table days I remember as a kid.
The hubs and I eat our cereal on the couch, while watching the local morning news. We like to make fun of the weather guy and the on-location guy.
If I'm at work, its in front of my PC. If I'm at home on a 'work' day its sitting down with the paper or in front of the PC browsing my fave blogs, email, etc. On the weekends its at the table with my hubby and daughter. Even if we are having different things, my daughter likes the company and I enjoy sitting with her.
Growing up it was always at the table. But now it's on the train (or the odd day we drive it's in the car). On weekends we usually end up on the couch catching up on our PVR!
at my workplace, usually at my desk, but I have used the lunch room in the morning before.
Since I became one of those annoying people who works out in the morning, I eat breakfast at my desk at work. Gives me time to shower and get myself together at home, or a few extra minutes to snuggle the bf, who gets up way later than me.
My husband and I get up a little earlier so that we can have breakfast together every morning at our dining room table. It's a nice way to start the day before we part ways.
I eat my breakfast (every daily, never miss it) standing in the kitchen. I eat it right out of the toaster or fridge.
kitchen nook or on our deck if the weather is nice.
I eat mine in my cozy cubicle (blonde wood, not the weird fabric/carpet-looking partitions!) every morning after getting to my desk. My computer's on, I'm working, etc., but I find it nice and quaint, almost a ritual!
banana in the kitchen while watching the Today Show. Then g-free oatmeal at my desk once I get to work. Simple, easy, and yummy!
I seem to feel more ready to conquer the day only after I have eaten a breakfast, so I always try to eat something on the dining table before leaving for work. It also helps me settle down and think about the day ahead.
I drink my breakfast in my home office or maybe the sofa with the laptop reading my blogs. :)
When I was a kid my mom and I had cereal while watching the morning news. We always had to get up and get ready before it was even light out. I think this eating (and getting up) too early thing is why I can't stand to eat anything when I first wake up. I usually don't have solid food until at least 3-4 hours after getting up.
I am 28 years old, but not afraid to admit that every morning before work I eat a bowl of cereal in front of the TV and watch cartoons... just like I did as a kid :D
I have breakfast at the kitchen table, with the rest of my family. If I'm in a rush, I eat it alone before my hubby and kids come to the table, but usually we all sit down together. I can count the times I've had something on the go on one hand and I'm 31 years old. Breakfast is that important to us.
I pour myself a cup of coffee (thank you, programmable coffee maker), eat granola and watch the news/check on my favourite blogs.
I'm just not one of those people who wakes up and runs out the door. I get up an hour earlier to have that time to myself.
I eat breakfast at my desk, in my PJs, while reading blogs/news/email.
I have breakfast in the car during my hour-long commute to work. It's always something portable - waffles and peanut butter, a banana, etc. On the weekends I skip breakfast and usually don't eat until lunch.
Everyone else makes me feel so disorganized! I shovel toast into my mouth with alternating sips of coffee while I rush around my apartment putting on clothes and make-up.
in the cozy armchair in my dining room, usually with oatmeal, milk, maple syrup
romancandles- Don't feel too disorganized! I'm right there with you, I sneak bites of yogurt and granola with my left hand as I'm blow drying my hair and putting on makeup with my right hand- needless to say I probably end up with hair in my breakfast more than I care to think about.
Every morning my husband and I brew a pot of tea and sit down at the kitchen table for breakfast. I work from home so I usually make pancakes or a full Irish breakfast (he's from Ireland) to make sure he's good to go for the day. We usually end up chatting the morning away and before we know it he's late for work. It's great!
simple solution: I don't eat breakfast.
I am trying to get out of the habit of eating at my desk, I used to eat there all the time. Now I will not eat anything that needs a plate there (drinks and small snacks are ok). So breakfast is at the table like a big girl. We'll see how long I hold out.
During the work week, I usually eat breakfast in front of my PC at work. On a typical weekend, my SO gets breakfast in bed on Saturday and I get breakfast in bed on Sundays.
Every morning without fail, I have coffee and muesli with yogurt and fruit in bed with a good book.
I'm pretty good about eating breakfast at my dining room table, even if it's just a bowl of cereal. I wait until I get to work to have coffee, but I've at least eaten something, which is more important to me!
At work at my desk. I can't handle breakfast before 9am. On my weekends, usually on the couch while watching cartoons or trashy mid-morning TV shows. Apart from when I was a kid and staying with my grandparents, I don't think I've ever eaten breakfast at the table. To be honest, we only eat dinner at the table when having a dinner party or visiting someone!
On weekdays, I eat mine on the counter at home or if I'm late, in the office.
But on weekends, where I and my hubby are both at home, we make a small feast for us and eat properly at the dining table. It's a good thing since we don't have time to enjoy food in weekdays.
My husband and I always enjoy breakfast in the dining room. We love to sit and enjoy the breakfast moment as long as possible with jam, cheese, bread, tea and fresh fruit. When we are eating we enjoy the morning news... It is my favorite part of the day!
i enjoy me breakfast alone on weekdays after sending my son to school that ways i am more relaxed.weekend its with everyone but on weekend i am not relxed as i will be having so mny things on my mind
In the kitchen at our island. We eat dinner at the dining room table, but most other meals at the island--it is our kitchen table.
In bed mostly. I get up, get my cereal, dive back into the warmth of my bed and read the paper whilst I eat. In summer I eat it on the couch.
