Q: Do you guys have advice on how best to flip pancakes? I gave myself a righteous burn this weekend when some batter and oil spattered on me after flipping a pancake. I'm already pretty timid with frying things and this has really given me some frying fear!
Many of the videos online suggest flipping it like one would flip sauteing vegetables (push the pan quickly forward then pull quickly backward), but I don't want to try it because all I can picture is hot batter flying toward me!
Incidentally, I run into the same problem flipping black bean burgers. How do I flip something in a pan of hot oil and not burn myself, please?
