I recently found out I'm allergic to safflower in addition to my nut allergy. It's becoming quite the trend for high-heat cooking. Got a suggestion for an alternative?

Emily, good news — are plenty of excellent alternatives. Try avocado (smoke point of 450º), sunflower, or grapeseed — as long as none of those are allergens for you, of course.
