We have a ham we picked up during the holiday season, so we're cooking that Monday since we have the day off. We have lots of guests coming over to help eat the ham, so mashed potatoes, greens, creamed corn and biscuits have been added to the menu. Best of all will be the beans we make with the leftover hambone the following weekend.
i'm trying out a roasted cauliflower soup with mushrooms, leeks and white beans. i'll post it on my blog on Monday! http://falling4food.wordpress.com
pozole! with green chili that we roasted this summer. Also a spinach and cheddar quiche.
Crockpot chili to keep us company while we watch the NFL playoffs today. Go NINERS!
Malted blueberry waffles in my new waffle iron (my old one bit the dust a few weeks ago), taco dip for the playoffs tonight, some hard boiled eggs for the week ahead, and maybe some sour cream pancakes with maple pecan butter from an article I read in Country Living magazine. I plan to make a slow braised brisket tomorrow for supper-and we'll have enough for leftovers for the majority of the week. And maybe some cheese biscuits from the cookbook "At my Grandmother's Knee" to have with country ham for a treat during the week. I've also been contemplating making the peanut butter fudge cookies posted on the The Kitchn's website last year. I'm really hungry...perhaps I should go make myself some breakfast.......
Take out minestrone, because I have a virus. Best discovery: Wholefoods boxed coconut water that I am mixing half and half with grapefruit juice. Very soothing.
Meat ragu (from a repurposed thekitchn.com recipe, i might add) with fresh parpadelle from the place downstairs. Italian Williamsburg has its charms...
Chicken pot pie tonight... and with that, we will finally be finished with the chicken breasts that were left over from our October wedding!
I made these "baked falafel burgers" http://sveltegourmand.com/4310_finally-veggie-burgers-that-dont-taste-like-cardboard. Not bad, need a bit more seasoning for my taste...
I made baked ziti with meatsauce, garlic bread and a fresh spinach and mozzarella salad.
for a small dinner party last night, we made black bean burgers with baked parsnip and butternut squash fries, a simple green salad & a chickpea chocolate chip cookie pie.
i bought a partridge yesterday at the farmers market so will I think either be roasting it or casseroling it tonight.
homemade pizza tonight with our sourdough starter and chipotle squash soup for the week ahead.
Homemade pizza, macaroni and cheese, Chicken in Milk, blondies...all good. Batch of whole wheat bread from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day...not so good.
I'm in the mood for chili today.
