I know we are having curry peanut stirfry for dinner tonight! =)
Hmm, pre-anniversary party tonight (my friends are celebrating their -1 year anniversary! getting married in a year!), wedding tomorrow night, and then an open house on Sunday. Not much cooking in my kitchen this weekend! Though I have a ton of cubed cheese to figure out how to use up.
We just had this pasta with braised fennel, bacon and parmesan last night, it was so good we're going to have it again!

We have random food at home so we're going to try Fried Cabbage and Potato Cakes, Spicy Sesame Noodles, Mango Lassi and Peach Brandy Crostata. Of course not all served in the same meal.
The following is on the menu this weekend:
- 8 Hour Chili
- Whole Chicken on the grill
If you're interested in trying a new Chili recipe on this pre-fall weekend, feel free:

Tomatoes tomatoes tomatoes. Maybe something with these cute little plums if they ripen up. Soft boiled eggs with perfect centers, if I can manage to do it correctly. Maybe some roasted, stuffed poblanos.
Grilled pizza tonight, making the mallowmars for our labor day trip, and some chipotle red bean burgers!
marmalade and mozzarella sandwich, for sure.
watched food network today and saw a yummy frittatta(sp) to try if i can find truly free range eggs and i'll dream of a fruit tart. i wanted fall to be here but the weather is going back up into the 90s in upstate NY so my apple/squash obsession will be postponed a few weeks.
gazpacho; grilled corn; maybe a tomato tart and something with zucchini as well.
mmm deep fried doughnut peaches :D
Thank grilled mozzarella sandwich looks so delicious I can almost taste it! Our dinner this evening was a nice bottle of cab and appetizers (mainly a variety of cheeses with fruit and crusty bread.) I think I'll have the mozzarella sandwich for lunch tomorrow. :-)
for me, weekends are about relaxing, and nothing says "weekend" quite like buttermilk pancakes for one. I think I may also try the marmalade and mozzarella sandwich Faith posted about. sounds yum.
I'm meeting up with dear friends this week, so I will be making vanilla-chili pepper truffles for them.
Making a Zuni-style chicken for Sunday dinner, and after raiding our apartment's crabapple trees last night, probably some crabapple jelly, too!
it is oh so hot to cook! I'll be making an Indian inspired cauliflower dish with peas, but for now snacking on popsicles made with plums, orange juice and lemon juice. You can fine a full "recipe" here :)
Just canned a batch of strawberry jam with my sister-in-law. Family in town for the weekend and we've been doing a lot of sightseeing (and tasting!) around Seattle - so not as much "regular" cooking, but lots of eating. :o]
Red beans and rice for a tailgating party! Also, the tuna and cabbage salad featured on the Kitchn this week.
We went to a potluck yesterday and I made my famous apple-raspberry pie - unfortunately I messed up the filling and it was dry! Most disappointing, especially since the crust was awesome. Oh well, you can't win them all.
Today we are BBQing - burgers made from fresh-ground short ribs and beef, and a cheese dip, and some other yummy things. Corn on the cob, grilled veggies.
Last night: lentils cooked with cumin and paprika, then leftover chicken, a couple of fresh tomatoes, and yogurt to top it; roasted zucchini and carrots; a basil pesto made with feta; the most amazing baguette from my neighborhood bakery; and citrus-olive oil cake topped with huckleberries cooked down and vanilla ice cream.
This weekend: pesto with walnuts, cheaters' pigs-in-blanket, locally made cheddar brats with kalamata olive ciabatta, and goat cheese empanadas with corn salsa. This week's dinners include one-dish rosemary chicken with white beans, ravioli with apples and walnuts, pork chops with who-knows-what seasoning, and turkey meatballs on Friday.
canteloupe chutney - sweet and spicey on toast with gruyere:
