Ravioli!!! i'm gonna make my own. woot.
Mexican themed tonight w/crispy tacos as the main course; dinner out tomorrow but Sunday I am picking up some sea bass from the fish monger at the farmer's market and will be making a roasted tomato tart to accompany the fish.
Slow-cooker Vietnamese chicken, plum hand pies, and vanilla-banana pudding pops.
Also, that roasted tomato tart sounds pretty tasty.
trying my hand at making some black bean burger's for tomorrow's pool party and grilling some corn (both recipes I found on here!) Also chopping up gobs of tomatoes and onions for fresh bruschetta next week!
Ratatouille and Caprese salad tonight, Zucchini fritters with tzatsiki & steamed mussels with no-bake bread for dipping tomorrow. Sunday is up the air but I'm sure a stop at the farmers market tomorrow will inspire me.
I'm not cooking so much as assembling...I'll be making cobb salad with shrimp, fried rice with leftover rice, and some coronation chicken. Maybe I'll make some crepes, I just got one of those steel crepe pans and we've got lots of wild mushrooms. Plus I plan on eating lots of pie!
Don't you mean what's NOT cooking?
It's been so hot lately that I've been doing my best to avoid actually using heat in the kitchen.
I'm making insalata panzanella. The Husband and I adapted our recipe from the one on the Kayotic Kitchen blog; we use yellow peppers instead of red (because I hate red, and because the yellow add some nice color), cucumbers instead of avocadoes (because we both hate avocadoes), and we add a little minced garlic. Easy. Quick. No cooking. Delicious.
I'll probably also reheat some black bean chili I made last week, and eat it with tortilla chips.
BBQ for 8-10 people this weekend. Ribs and bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos on the smoker, and chicken wings on the grill.
I'll be making homemade vanilla extract.
Also, I'll whip up something fresh and local after I hit up the Farmers Market tomorrow morning! It's my favorite day of the week. :-)
With our air conditioner broken I'm not cooking a blasted thing!
tonight we are trying a spicy fennel pasta from bon appetit, but if it cools down this weekend we're going to do a simple lemon-garlic-pepper pork loin. summery and citrusy! maybe also a blueberry contraption of some kind...

It's our block party tomorrow so we're drinkin' and cookin' out. Watermelon Lime coolers made with vanilla vodka and honey-mint simple syrup for a thirst quencher and party starter. Arnold Palmer sorbet and spicy spinach avocado dip with pita chips to share. For dinner-Teriyaki chicken kabobs with red pepper and pineapple along with black bean mango quinoa salad.
Have octopus... will boil!

I'm definitely making this blueberry compote. It'll taste amazing over ice cream, and great over the French Toast I'm making too.
I'm very inspired by the suddenly cooler weather that I know I'll be baking. Definitely a rosemary foccacia. I've promised my little one she can help. A white bean chili goes in the slow cooker for tonight. A minestrone tomorrow. And I'll be watching this space for inspiration. What else to bake? A coffee cake? A fruit crisp? Hmm.
Nothing! I have a wedding to go to today and a birthday party tomorrow, so I won't be cooking too much of anything. Maybe dinner tomorrow night. I picked 3 cukes, a squash and about a pint of cherry tomatoes out of the garden, so maybe something with those...
cmcinnyc, why not try the plum crumble that was posted on here last year? The full recipe is at http://orangette.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-i-do-now.html. I made it last week and it was super delicious. You could probably use any fruit, although I'm partial to the original recipe.
I made some fruit salsa last night that was instantly devoured, so I may need to whip up some more for this evening...

Tonight was marinated steaks and corn on the grill with fried okra (and watermelon for dessert)! Tomorrow we're going to make a batch of Homesick Texan's Texas Potato Salad for a picnic at Shakespeare in the Park!
Nothing but tea, crustless cucumber sandwiches, scones and cake yesterday - hen party at a lovely hotel :)
Today, first try at ciabatta - tastes good, but entirely unconvinced about the effort-to-result ratio. Roast chicken with garlic and parsley butter. Beet, feta and cauliflower salad - definitely the winner of the bunch.
I didn't cook anything yesterday, but I've been cooking/assembling all day. First was a week's worth of salads for lunch, then a week's worth of bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches for breakfast. Then I moved on to pasta with veggies in a lemon-wine-parmasan sauce and divided it into single portions. Now I'm doing easy chicken and dumplings with store-bought sauce, but homemade dumplings, with chicken picked from one I roasted last weekend.
Finally, I'm making a mango stirfry with shrimp from Cooking Light's Cooking through the Seasons tonight for dinner, plus roasted asparagus. Phew!
I took advantage of the overwhelming amount of tomatoes at the farmers market to create this Tomato & Peach Salad:

The recipe uses a touch of fresh basil from the garden which is perfect since I have tons!
