Straw Mat from The ...

For Father's Day, I am making pulled pork (in the slow cooker) and Dulce de Leche Cheesecake bars from the current issue of Bon Appetit/
Burgers, homemade baked beans, green salad for dinner tonight, Salmon with garlic scape pesto on the grill, new potatoes and sugar snap peas for an early father's day dinner on Saturday and beef and pork chili on Sunday. Trying to find somewhere in there to bake some cookies.
Tonight, I'm making rosemary dijon chicken thighs, served with kasha (buckwheat groats) mixed whole wheat penne, and some steamed yellow summer squash. Tomorrow we're going strawberry picking, so I'm sure there will be lots of berry recipes in our near future!

Black-eyed pea soup (w/ yams and peanuts, I think), cheesy potsticker chips, and papaya cobber is on the World Cup Food Challenge menu for tonight.
I have not at all thought ahead to the weekend's menus, though if Japan could play Italy, I have lovely fish balls in the freezer. And I'm ridiculously proud of my own date-pistachio scones.
Tonight my husband and I are making our first grilled pizza of the season! We just returned from France, so we are going to try replicating something we ate over there - pizza with mozzarella and 3 other soft cheeses, covered with herbes de provence.
We had our normal Friday night fare of pizza, tomorrow, we'll be in Maine enjoying a lobster roll, and then on Sunday, I think I'll cook my heart out. I want to make the following, don't know if I'll get to it all.
Egg salad for egg salad sandwiches for lunch during the week, cinnamon swirl bread for toasting, a chocolate loaf cake with strawberry jam filling for dessert, steak with scalloped potatoes for supper, some sort of veg to go with it, and a quick salsa for my husband to snack on during the week.
Happy Father's Day!
I've had Pavlova on the brain for weeks. I might finally make some.
Picking tart cherries tomorrow morning so clafouti in the afternoon.
grilled corn on the cob, new potato salad, strawberry rhubarb crisp

Then using them for making sliders with grilled lamb and veggies.
My weekend has come early...I made the pomegranate yogurt ice lollies and they were delish!

I just put some pineapple mango coconut lime ice pops in the freezer. Tomorrow I'm making Smitten Kitchen's walnut jam cake for a friend's party. Other than that, I'm home alone, so beans out of a can it is!
Kicked off with scrambled eggs with jalapeno cheddar on toast, but lacking inspiration this weekend. Might have to go into the garden to see which herb needs culling, and take it from there.
I'm looking for something easy with little prep time to grill for Father's Day, as the whole family are coming around for a big DIY session. Hmm...
oxtail with soft polenta! 3-day-cooking meal, for the first time!
Last night was our usual of homemade pizza and salad, today we'll be spending it at the beach so tonight's fare will be easy and breezy as we'll likely be tired. Tomorrow my husband requested baked french toast for breakfast and we'll be grilling up some lamb chops for dinner along with whatever deliciousness I find at the farmer's market this weekend.
In the morning I had no idea but I came across Nigella's buttermilk chicken drumsticks recipe and it sounded nice.
cold-brew iced coffee.
possible chocolate toffee cookies.

garlic scape pesto and ginger snaps.
Fruit salad for 50 for a wedding celebration brunch.
Potatoes and onions, cubed and cooked in butter and oil with garden spinach and rosemary, topped with easy-over eggs tonight. Yum.
this weekend i am going to try my hand at making my own ice cream...should be fun!
Today I made an everything but a kitchen sink omelet. Filling, easy to make and pretty healthy.
Using up the last of a roasted chicken in a chicken noodle soup with dill for the sick boyfriend. Hope it works and he feels better!
Really outdid myself this weekend: Sunday night dinner was roast duck with savory stewed cherries, fregola with yellow tomatoes and onion, spicy raw arugula, and a peach caramel pie for dessert. Very proud.
