Practicing my grandfathers bagel recipe before a Throwdown:Bagels competition with a friend.
Heading to a family bbq tomorrow so today I made Ina's roasted shrimp and orzo pasta salad-always a crowd pleaser.
Today: cucumbers, onion, vinegar, toffuti sour cream.
Tonight: gnocchi, earth balance, garlic and toffuti sour cream.
Tomorrow: Ginger peanut soup.
Having a pizza grilling get-together on Sunday! I'm in charge of the dough and sauce, while everyone else brings at least one topping (or 6 pack) to share.
shrimp in thai basil sauce with rice noodles. yogurt mixed with sugar and cocoa over raspberries for desert.
I made amazing blueberry ice cream this afternoon and enjoyed multi-colored boiled heirloom carrots with pepper and butter with a good St-André cheese and baguette for dinner.
I plan to make a roasted pork loin with fresh apricots for dinner tomorrow.
Grilled Nueske's cheddar brats (I finally found Nueske's products here in Pasadena, CA!)
Mache salad with baby heirlooom tomatoes and a quick balsamic dressing
Mashed baby Yukon Golds from the farmer's market
Turkish coffee ice cream
On Saturday I had homemade minestrone soup (leftovers) for lunch and stuffed shells and garlic bread.
Sunday was eggs with black bean and corn salsa and chicken tacos with homemade guacamole for dinner (I was in a Mexican mood apparently!)
This was a weekend at the beach (http://cooking-shopping-crafts-etc.blogspot.com/2008/08/bethany-beach-with-jenn.html), so there was no cooking. Just a lot of good eating! :)
