Definitely going to cook up the chard before it starts going brown. Also, will be cooking some meat on the grill, rain or shine!
CARROT EVERYTHING! Carrot burgers tonight, spicy carrot dip tomorrow, Roated carrots for lunch and carrot cake for dessert. I have 5 pounds of carrots that must be used right away!
About to make some homemade corn tortillas for grilled chicken soft tacos. It is 75 degrees - perfect taco weather!
@applebomb - I love carrots! Have you ever tried them caramelized with onions then pureed with cilantro and olive oil? One of my favorite side dishes!
i am trying to avoid baking as i need to lose a stone, so probably more of that great asparagus that has come in lately and maybe salad w chicken breast that's marinated in soy and o.j. baked in the oven.
* stone crab claws, potatoes and some other vegetable on the grill (yea for summer like weather!)
* vegetable risotto and roast chicken on Sunday when the temperature is going to drop (boo!)
@ Ta , Yes I have! I had that last night!
I just made the most amazing dinner - baked cod on a toasted garlic crouton and tomato and garlic - just followed this recipe posted on Epicurious http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Roasted-Cod-on-Large-Garlic-Croutons-242490
My honey's got a 300k bike ride tomorrow, so we're carbo loading tonight with veggie lasagna and garlic bread. Tomorrow I think I'll make wontons and fried rice. Maybe something on the BBQ Sunday?
flank steak with chimichuri, roasted potatoes and asparagus.
melissa clarke's blood orange cake and beef stew with mashed potatoes.
maybe a batch of granola for the week.
Pizza dough is made and baseball is on tap for the weekend. Pulled pork for Sunday.
I am cheese lover, so load it and enjoy!
With discovering a mill in my area, I found that using tasteless flower is no longer a fatality. Crêpes and kuglof are on the menu !
Last night, chipotle pork tacos and a southwestern slaw. Tonight, pork tenderloin sandwiches and potato wedges with a salad on the side.
Nothing earth shattering-baking some blueberry muffins and banana crumb muffins for the freezer. Prepping for next week's meals with some slow cooker barbecued beef and a pizza spaghetti casserole.
Visiting BIL is FedExing lobsters to another family member's home for a get together tonight. All I have to bring is a fruit crisp for dessert. :-D
Tomorrow, it's back to real life with slow-cooked chicken and veggie stew.
We're making two terrines this weekend for Momofuku's banh mi. One is chicken liver and the other uses fresh ham. It's proving to be quite the undertaking!
Applebomb, what recipe are you using for the spicy carrot dip you're making tomorrow? Sounds yummy and I'm always looking for new ways with carrots . . . Thanks!
Rhode Island Clam Chowder
I made a fresh batch of kefir and a cannellini bean salad with roasted peppers, olives and blue cheese, served on top of steamed broccoli.
Oh, and mango crisp. : )
Tonight is Thomas Keller's roast chicken along with truffled mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and a nice green salad.
Tomorrow is slow roasted pork with lime mojo, cuban black beans, rice and roasted butternut squash. Might try to do some home made tortillas with it if I'm feeling particularly ambitious.
I've got ham stock reducing on the stove right now to make split pea soup later. Also roasting some asparagus, but haven't decided whether I want it as a side or in the soup... hmm...
Craving sweet spring strawberries like nobody's business but I'm broke. Guess I'll have to wait till next week!
Spinach, artichoke, mushroom lasagna and another one with beef and Italian sausage.
Cobbler with pear, cherry and almonds.
Yesterday was Braised Chicken and Leeks with cream served with lentils and zucchini.
Today we're smoking a chicken and a rack of ribs to serve with mashed potatoes and probably some roasted radishes.
I just made the best sweet potato, lime/coconut soup with some fresh spinach- I can't find the specific recipe online. It's a copy from my mom. It's amazing. Tonight I'm making tofu fingers with some type of veggie side. I really want to bake homemade graham crackers but I have no limits when it comes to baked goods.
pork chops with rosemary and fried sage, rice pilaf, first spring asparagus, potato salad, and the orange cake from the Silver Spoon for Children cookbook (just put it in the oven) with strawberries. Last night was wild mushroom ravioli with vodka sauce and homemade meatballs.
how about a modified hopping john, black eyed peas, tomatoe, ground pork, kale and lots of spice
@ Lovesitc1, I loosely followed this recipe - http://www.food.com/recipe/moroccan-carrot-dip-112229
but I didn't add olives or honey, and instead put minces jalepenos and Sriracha sauce.
I also didn't follow the measurements on the recipe given, I just tasted as I was making it.
my sister was visiting, so there was more eating out than in, but we did manage to make brunch for our friends. my contribution was a challah bread pudding with chocolate, cherries and rum. If you like booze, carbs and chocolate, you can't go wrong!
Thanks @applebomb :) Sounds delish!
