We have talked about infusing vodka and other liquors with flavors of citrus, herbs, fruits, and vegetables — but bubblegum?
Well, yes, that's what Taylor of Taylor Takes a Taste has done. He infused vodka with the very essence of pink bubblegum. What do you think of bubblegum vodka? What would you do with it?
Taylor suggests mixing it with lemonade or Sprite for a girlishly pink drink for early summer.
We are not huge fans of bubblegum, but in a drink it might be rather charming. What do you think?

Ew, no thanks.
Yeah, I don't know about that... But if I were going to mix it up, I would definitely do a hefty dose of citrus to cut the sugary sweet flavor, rather than add a sugary mixer like Sprite. Perhaps sweet and sour mix or lots of lemon, and then some kind of pink tinted juice, like cherry or raspberry. Shaken with ice and served in a martini glass?
Actually a quick search resulted in a citrusy but juiceless recipe on Epicurious from Tailor restaurant in NYC: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/drink/views/Bazooka-Bubblegum-Cocktail-350146
Three Olive's has a Bubblegum flavored vodka. I did an experiment with it.
i tried it with jolly ranchers and it turned out quite yummy
I've seen Skittle flavored vodka (it is delicious) but never bubblegum flavored...
I'd probably use it in nearly any drink I'd use vodka for. Like cosmos, or like a Raspberry Long Island Iced Tea.
Outlaw it.
Sounds like the makings of a wicked snow cone...
Throw it away, immediately.
How about - spit it out and throw the rest down the drain?
Gah! This is why I have a hard time with summer cocktails!
Ew.
This has to be intended for drinking straight -- weird infusions make no sense for the bottles of booze one keeps around for mixers. Not flexible enough.
It's delicious with club soda!
Sounds like it'd be good as a chilled shot with a sugared rim.
Not being one who really likes sweet drinks, this sounds revolting. Some flavors are best left to childhood.
clean the drains with it? sounds like a horrible waste of vodka. Bubblegum flavoured *anything* is fricken VILE.
It doesn't sound very appealing... However, maybe one could make a bubblegum cosmopolitan with it
oh barf. i just can't think of anything more helpful than that, sorry!
wonder aloud "Who ruined this vodka?"
When my friend first told me about Bubble Gum Vodka I thought- GROSS! Why would you do that?!?
But she brought some over and it wasn't soo bad. Now mind you, I would never do shots of this stuff. But mix it in with a bit of Sprite and it's refreshing. It's fun to drink and sorta reminds me of my childhood.
So my advise- ice, sprite and vodka. It's wonderful. I still have half a bottle in my freezer!
Taylor vs. Tailor
Tailor's (nyc) "Bazooka" is made with a bubblegum cordial. I believe they make a bubblegum infused syrup or liquer and add vodka to it rather than infusing the vodka itself.
It's really good! It's hard not have fun drinking something like this. There's Suntory time and there's bubblegum cocktail time.
Not for me but the snow cone idea was a good one!
I feel like anything made with bubblegum vodka should have a rim of pop rocks.
But I wouldn't want to drink it!Makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it.
I would cry bitter tears into it as I slowly poured it down the drain.
Disgusting. The most vile cocktail I ever tasted was at Mercato in the Meatpacking District. I have no idea what it was supposed to be, but I distinctly remember that it tasted like bubblegum. When I complained to the bartender that it was sickeningly sweet, she gave me the 2nd most vile cocktail I've ever tasted...that one tasted, I swear, like curry powder. Ewww. Lesson learned: stick to wine.
Yeah stick to wine!
Bubble gum vodka and red bull is a personal favorite.
