Q: Thanks to an incredible meal during our honeymoon, my meat-and-potatoes husband learned that he loves caviar and would like to eat some at home for an upcoming special occasion. I'd love to put together a special little tasting menu of sorts, but I have no idea where to start!
Where should I buy caviar (we live in Washington, DC)? How do I buy a few ounces without going broke? What are some interesting ways to serve it — all I can think of is on blinis or maybe steamed potatoes with creme fraiche? We love good food and cook at home all the time, but most of the ingredients on rotation in our kitchen are usually closer to chickpeas than caviar!
