Q: My husband and I have recently moved into a house which is surrounded by beautiful grape vines. It seems like a waste to just let all of those grapes go to waste.
Do you or your readers have any suggestions on what we could do with our home grown grapes?

Editor: Casey, why yes! Here are a few recipes of different sorts from The Kitchn's archives:
• Green Grape Pie
• How To Make Your Own Dolmas (Stuffed Grape Leaves) - with a link to instructions for brining your own grape leaves.
• Goat Cheese and Grape Galettes
• Grape Ice Cream
• Wine-Marinated Grapes and Sweet Wine Refresher
You can also roast them. Readers, any favorite recipes for grapes? Jam? Jelly? Pickles?

Whatever you do, wear gloves!
We would assume we would do the same things with them that we could do with grapes we've purchased?
if you fear them going to waste, call a local food pantry or soup kitchen. most would love to get a hold of extra fresh produce of any type.
This won't make much of a dent, probably, but it looks yummy!

Dehydrate into raisins! (You can buy a dehydrator for pretty cheap @ the big box stores...)
Some suggestions:
* Freeze the grapes - they make for a delicious snack!
* Make your own wine
I make grape jelly with mine and it is fabulous!
Make wine.
Grape syrup? Good with pancakes and a little peanut butter? Hmmm... I have grapes in my backyard - might have to try that myself!
Juice them! My aunt and cousin can grape juice every year. I'm not even a big juice fan, but it is amazing.
Can I have them?
Don't let them go to waste. Take them to your local food bank or type in your zip code here:

.. and see what organizations are in your area. Some, might even come and pick the grapes!
I like them on thin crust pizza, with a bit of blue cheese and walnuts.
With my grapes I did all these few weeks ago:
Grape liqueur. Put in a jar with vodka. If you want ad some sugar and a piece of cinnamon. Wait some weeks and serve with your turkish coffee and with a piece of chocolate.
Or juice and freeze the juice for using later.
Or make kara üzüm papası (black grape jelly): 5 glass of grape juice, 2 glass (if you don't like so sweet, then less) of sugar and 1 tea spoon of corn starch. Boil all together and make a jelly. Serve to bowls, when it's coldish put on the fridge.
Or grape jam: For 1 kg small black grape, use 500 g of sugar.
I have to go with make wine on this one.
The late, lamented Gourmet magazine had a recipe for Concord grape sorbet that is out of this world. Make it now and save it for winter to bring back the memory of summer.
