Q: This week I made delicious pulled pork in my slow cooker with BBQ sauce. After gobbling up all the meat, I have about 2 cups of the incredible sauce leftover and don't want it to go to waste. Do you have any ideas about how long it will last in the fridge and some good ideas for using it?

Editor: Technically, leftovers can be kept in the fridge for up to 7 days, but my guess is that a cooked condiment like BBQ sauce will last a little longer. You could also freeze it for up to three months.
As for using it, I'd pour that sauce on everything! Mac n' cheese, pizza (instead of tomato sauce), roasted vegetables — you name it!
Readers, what are your ideas?

My mother used to make BBQ baked beans that, I think, used regular BBQ sauce mixed with canned baked beans, sauteed onions and green peppers and browned ground beef. They were DELICIOUS. Would be nice to make something similar for a cold end of winter night!
Pour it on pasta. Use it sandwiches.
How about you get a big round steak, put it in a slow cooker, top it with sliced onions, then with your leftover bbq sauce. Cook it on low for 6-8 hours. Even better the next day reheated gently in the oven.
Thin it out and use it as a dressing for chicken salad.
Recipe for the barbecue sauce? I have not been able to find a good one.
I would just drink it. But then again I'm big into sauce.
Sounds gross, but it's actually pretty tasty (and a great stoner snack) - BBQ Popcorn!!! I pop my own kernels, then dress it with BBQ sauce and butter, and then toss it with mini pretzels. Messy, but addictive.
I highly recommend bbq chicken pizza-- bbq sauce, some sauteed red onion rings, grilled chicken (or usually leftover rotisserie...) and cheddar. It's such a great combo!
I'd stick the sauce in the freezer to use with leftover chicken, pork or beef.
Make another pulled pork roast.... or a beef roast. Same technique, just slow cook it in the sauce until it falls apart. Bbq chicken pizza sounds great too.
Into the freezer.
This is fairly basic, but tasty: add some chicken and barbeque sauce to macaroni and cheese. You can add fresh spinach, too, to balance it w/ some veggies.
Lots of ideas here, pic a few to try. OR if nothing appeals to you, repeat the original recipe & freeze it. Either in bulk for a quick family meal on a busy evening or in individual portions for lunches/sandwiches as needed. Great return for little effort.
And btw, I store my homemade bbq sauce in the fridge for much longer than 7 days. I won't share how long for fear of rousing the fear mongers (shhh...they're sleeping)
"BBQ swipes" or also known as BBQ sauce on bread.

Dipping sauce : use a ratio of 2:1 of sour cream and cream cheese as a base, then stir in 1 or more tablespoons of bbq sauce to taste.
Sandwich spread : if the sauce won't coat a spoon, thicken it by either baking or slow boiling it down by 1/3. Then use instead of ketchup or mustard on your favorite sandwich. Surprisingly, most bbq sauce tastes great with sharp cheese.
Marinade : I love to marinade chicken (any cut) in BBQ sauce, then grill on an indirect heat.
As with a previous commenter, I would like to see the recipe you use.
I'm with the freeze it crowd, but also suggest experimenting with lacto-fermentation for condiment fermentation.
The Kitchn did a post on it a while back: http://www.thekitchn.com/want-your-homemade-condiments-to-last-longer-culture-them-181106
I love BBQ sauce on eggs!
Freeze it in ice cube trays - then use them individually for all these great ideas above! I like using my old sauces as 'starters' for gravy or to add punch to other sauces.
Make more BBQ to slather it on!!
Ok, or mix it into baked beans or into a pot of pinto beans, spread it on sandwiches to replace ketchup or mustard, stir it into sloppy joes, spread it on a chicken and roast it, make BBQ cheeseburgers....
I vote BBQ chicken pizza
I like to make these two

I say FREEZE also. There are so many options that you're bound to become inspired some lazy Sunday or when you are craving a home made hamburger or meatloaf.
Hawaiian meatballs over rice; BBQ sauce, frozen or home made meatballs, 1 can pineapple, chunked onion and peppers. Easy squeezy.
@SweetwaterSpice - I'm saving these. THANKS!
I love using BBQ sauce in my southwest chicken salad. Mix equal parts BBQ sauce and ranch for your sauce (I also add some Tapatio). Lettuce, corn, black beans, bell pepper, cilantro, shredded cheese, and some tortilla strips make the salad.
