We are entering the Passover and Easter holidays — and both are holidays rich with tradition, memory, and meaning. Do you gather with friends and family for Passover or Easter (or do you celebrate both — as do many friends of mine?). We'd love to hear all about your food plans for these occasions! What are you making? Where are you celebrating?
And here is a look back, too at a few of our favorite posts for both Easter and Passover.

We are going to my in-laws home for brunch. My mother-in-law is a fantastic cook who loves to entertain and her brunches for family our legendary and we all have our favorites that she makes to sure to cycle through over the course of the various holidays to get our respective fix. I know we will be having an egg dish, a baked french toast, fruit salad and desert, to name just a few. Looking forward to it.
My husband and I are going to his first ever Passover Seder at a friends' parents' home. We're looking forward to brisket! We're bringing wine (non-kosher since they're not very observant) and some bubbly just for fun.
My very Protestant in-laws have requested my challah bread for Easter dinner. Haha.
I'm making Passover for my mixed family and guests. The New Yorkers are coming here and the grandkids are staying a few days extra for the first time. My friend invited us to gather fresh eggs from her hens. Friday; Brisket, Salmon, asparagus, sweet potato, carrot, prune tzimmes, with lemon and honey, roast asparagus, Fresh strawberries and pineapple, chocolate covered almonds and ginger, macaroons, and my special addition, the sacrificial jello lamb. . Last year we liked pomegranate wine so I got it again. Better get back to work. Happy Holidays All.
@Holler, that sounds fantastic and made me crack up.
I'm off to my family's seder tomorrow. My uncle does the brisket on the Green Egg smoker which is delicious if you're into meat (I'm not so much) so I mostly gorge myself on matzo ball soup and macaroons.
Sunday we're going to brunch at my partner's mom's house. For Easter, I guess. If by Easter you mean, eat a lot of eggs and get a big basket o' candy.
Happy happy, all!
my parents for easter brunch w extended family (including some little ones I haven't seen in over a year that are growing like crazy!) this weekend then his for passover next weekend - his folks were kind enough to use the 2nd weekend instead of the traditional first night so we could see my family...... and now that I am the "expert" my mother asked me to bring that "holler" (challah) bread you (me) always make for them!
Gloating that my brother had to go to Seder with our biological father and I didn't. Ha! In the mean time, I got to have delicious udon soup and chill out with some Star Trek Voyager. (Time for the Boooorg!)
Tomorrow, I'm tempted to order ham and pineapple pizza. Just because it breaks the rules in at least three different ways. (Leavened base + meat and milk + ham.)
My dad will fill the refrigerator with hand-dipped dark chocolate-covered strawberries. They'll be gone in a day.
Tonight we are having "mini" seder at my fiance's parents house. Easter Sunday, my best friend is getting married at a craft brewery, so we will be feasting on appetizers and fancy beer and dancing the day away!
Working on Easter. We have 600 brunch reservations so far.
Yikes this year has buzzed by ... we don't do anything Easter-y ... no family living and friends live far away but the weather looks like it will be great for gardening. I made your yogurt cake, adding tons of of orange zest and juice, & froze 2 small loaves ... so I think I will find some strawberries to serve with it on Sunday as a nod to "Easter". We're pretty low key over here. :-)
Matzoh ball soup, brisket, charoset, Moroccan carrot salad (made by me), roasted sweet potatoes/onions with old bay and smoked paprika (made by my boyfriend), macaroons, fresh strawberries, all in the company of family.
I've got another Seder to go to in a few days and I'll be bringing (Kosher for Passover only if you're Sephardic) lemony chickpea salad, and (KforP for everyone) flourless chocolate cake. I think there will be lamb and more matzoh ball soup as well. There's always the possibility of a good quinoa salad...
